Scripture Union Daily Guide 29th March 2026 – Outline

Arguments about who will be the leader are an age-long problem. It is causing a lot of disputes in our homes, communities, institutions, the Church and nations (Luke 22:24). Read Luke 22:25 in NLT and note the mindset of leadership in the world system. Can you see the conflict in the way the world looks at leadership? Those who should serve are the ones being served. How does Jesus challenge the worldly view in Luke 22:26?

True leadership is to “serve”. Today, many seem to believe that the number of people serving you determines how great you are. This is contrary to the example Jesus left for us to follow. In serving others, you may be tempted to think that you are only a servant. Note that you are actually a great leader in that role.

As a great leader, Jesus looked out for Peter, who needed support due to an imminent intense temptation (Luke 22:31-32). A true leader is sensitive to the spiritual condition of the people he is leading and offers spiritual coverage for them. Where would you need the Lord to intervene and support you?

Insight
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

I love to tell the story Of unseen things above
1 I love to tell the story
Of unseen things above,
Of Jesus and His glory,
Of Jesus and His love.
I love to tell the story,
Because I know ’tis true;
It satisfies my longings
As nothing else can do.

Refrain
I love to tell the story,
’Twill be my theme in glory,
To tell the old, old story
Of Jesus and His love.
2 I love to tell the story;
More wonderful it seems
Than all the golden fancies
Of all our golden dreams.
I love to tell the story,
It did so much for me;
And that is just the reason
I tell it now to thee.

3 I love to tell the story;
’Tis pleasant to repeat
What seems, each time I tell it, More wonderfully sweet.
I love to tell the story,
For some have never heard
The message of salvation
From God’s own holy Word.

4 I love to tell the story,
For those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting
To hear it like the rest.
And when, in scenes of glory,
I sing the new, new song,
’Twill be the old, old story
That I have loved so long.

Closing Prayer
Ask the Lord to give you a true understanding of greatness and leadership. Pray for the leadership in our churches and nation.

Prayer of Faith
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Deuteronomy 28:7
